The Nikko Seifu Juku has decided to conduct an open lecture by the head of the Juku, Mr. Masao Kawai, once a month basically on the first Sunday starting from November. As for November, the last day of October was set up for this occation in stead of the first Sunday. It was held at the cityzen support center. The room was filled with a big audience which encouraged us a lot. He talked about what he did and felt this time at the Nankin Media University in China where he gave some lectures for a week as well as at the Bergen University where he also gave one lecture this September. After retiring from the MOF, he has been exploring a new life to devote himself in deepening the friendship with Chinese people on the private basis, so called grass root activity, so as to get better understanding each other.
He keeps contact with his Chinese students who encourage him to be involved in teaching more in their country. He seems to enjoy this tough but meaningful challenge and exploring his activity based on his long career in the past.

My husband came back home safe as scheduled from Bergen through Oslo with some new impressions on Norway. He sincerely recognized that Norway is distinctly one of the top class countries when it comes to its quality. He is sure to say that there exists a big difference between Japan and Norway. They seem to enjoy their asset and their well controled economy. The sound and well managed politics must be the most needed factor.
He met some of our friends there and shared a good time with them. It seems the big climate difference attacked him upon his return home. He found Japan is still summerlike compared to Norway where they are already wearing thick coats. After two big consecutive trips, he might need a time to adjust himself but he has no tome to rest. He has to get back to campus right away.
During his absence away in Norway, our son returned home from Florida with his wife. I went to Narita to welcome them back. They looked OK but exhausted after such a overloaded work upon their decision to leave America. Well, we are happy to have them nearby. He is going to find his new work to challenge in Japan to make the best of his experiences piled up in the States.
The next day was our grandson's sports day at his nursery school. It was his first debut in such an event (the kids 3 years old up are allowed to participate) and I joined his family to cheer him up. It was such fun and lovely. He kept smiling whatever he was doing, running or dancing.
