東照宮境内風景 Nowadays fasion found among visitors to Toshogu shrine

日光ユネスコ協会は世界遺産を守る運動として毎年数回の空気汚染度を計るモニタリングを実施。今回は昨日五箇所に設置したカプセルの回収を担当。このボランティア作業は二つのメリットがある。一つは奥ノ院まで上っていくので運動になるということ。もう一つは、観光客の今様風景が見られるということ。これは結構楽しい作業である。台風、26,27,28号が去って秋の絶好のお天気日和を迎え、紅葉も始まっているタイミングで気持ちの良い朝の散策となった。観光客の中にはペットも。

Nikko UNESCO Association has been operationg Air Pollution  Monitoring several times a year in the area of the world cultural heritage in Nikko as one of our volunteer works to protect the treasure. This time I was in charge of collecting 5 capsules which were placed yesterday at 5 different places on the premise of Toshogu shrine. It is good for me for two reasons. One is good physical exercise for me and it's enjoyable to watch visitors from different countries. I have noticed the number of foreigners has increased these days. Not only people but also some pets are joining to look around. After the

tyhoons, No 26,27,28, the weather has become so beautiful inviting autumn colors gradually.

地域の文化祭に参加 Seasonal cultural festival in my district

年一回の地域の文化祭に参加して日光彫作品を展示。作品の鏡に映った友人の写真を撮ってみたらまるでモナリザのよう。こうして展示するともっと芸術性があって良い出来栄えになると思うのですが。

Encouraged by a call from the director of our district council, some of my Nikko Bori works(wood cutting) were among many kinds of articles such as hand crafts, paintings, calligraphy etc. displayed on the occasion of its seasonal cultural festival. The photo I took with my friend reflecting in the mirror of which the frame is my work, turned to be wonderful just like Mona Lisa. I wish I could exhibit this photo. It looks more artistic.

誕生日の後にぶつかったT字路 Dead end I ran up after my birthday

健康なのが取り柄というのはやっぱり当てにならない。何を食べても影響なしと高をくくっていた人が突如下痢と嘔吐に見舞われてダウン状態。誕生日祝いに遠路はるばる集まってきた子供達、孫達も帰宅後順繰り調子を崩して行った様子。じじばばにも連鎖。食あたりの筈は無い。風邪かな？ともかく私の場合症状は一度っきりではあったが、２日ほど食欲不振で力が出なかった。お粥と梅干療法で元に戻りました。問題はその後。肉体的にダウンすると精神的にもダウンするのが良くない。むしろ精神的にダウンする方が長引く。頭の中はあれやこれや堂々巡りするだけで前に進まない。今回は20歳を目前にして失踪した愛猫ミーちゃんが登場。彼女の文句を励みにしています。あれからもう１年半が経ちます。①見つめる先は飼い主の動向。ボランティア活動しっかりやって頂戴ね。一生懸命応援してるわよ。②丸顔の三毛嬢。鋭い眼に真摯な佇まいが私の身を正す。高齢でもやるしかないって。それ、ステップフォーワード！

I have been proud of my good shape but it's not reliable. I found myself this time out of shape after having a diarrhea and a vomit which suddenly knocked me down. Our daughters' families also got down after going back home who had been here with us to celebrate our birthdays. We both also felt sick after seeing them off. What was it? No reason was found. Anyway I was quick to be recovered thanks to some rice porridge and pickled plums. The worse thing is my mental depression afterward. I just couldn't manage how to deal with my mind. I'm usually patient enough to find out which way to go by myself. This time, however, the figure of my dear cat Mi-chan showed up in front of me and encouraged me by  her poems. One and a half years have already past since she disappeared in the woods beyond our back yard last year.
①She looks hard at me so as to put me back to continue my volunteer work. She looks like cheering me up.②Such charming and round face but her very shrewd observation try to reform my lazy attitude. Nothing to do with the aged. Just step forward!

誕生日 My birthday has come again

１０月２０日
今日は皇后陛下のお誕生日。７９歳になられた由。日本国の優しさと気配りの象徴としての皇后陛下は私達の精神のより所だと思っています。
Today is Her Majesty's 79th birthday. I feel we are protected by Her Majesty as the symbol of the nation with Her warmhearted and deep concern extended to the Japanese people.

  昨日から娘達の家族が我が家に来てくれて、３か月振りに見る孫達の成長が可愛く貴重な週末となっています。我々への何よりのプレゼントとなりました。今年から小学生になった男の子達はすでに簡単には話し相手にはなってくれない。関心のあることに話題を向けると乗ってくる。精神的成長が著しい。下の１歳２か月と１歳４か月の子はまさに歩き始めて三次元の世界に仲間入り。顔の表情も指のしぐさも豊かで意思表示が出来、生きた人形みたいで実に可愛い。昨日親戚のお店に寄った時は、このおちびさん達はカップルとなって商品の品定めをやって活発に歩き回りました。現実離れしたキューティーな癒しの時間を与えてくれました。

 Yesterday our two daughters' families came to see us one from Soga and the other from Ichikawa in Chiba pref. This is the first time to see their children after three months. Their visit became the precious present for our birthdays, 17 and 20 October. Two grandsons, the first graders of the different primeary schools are grown big enough to deal with the persons who they are talking with. They show their interest only when I talk to them about what they are very much concerned. On the other hand, the little ones, one year and 2 months old grandson, and one year and 4 months old grand-daughter have just started to walk. Their facial expressions are very alive together with the movement of their index fingers. They look like two living dolls. When we visited one of our relative's shop, they behaved like a sweet couple looking around in the shop to find out some pairs of shoes suitable for them. I had a really nice time to watch how they moved sweet together like seen in the photos here.

所属するCCの月例コンペ「シニア＆レディース杯」に参加。まさに台風26号が到来する直前で後半には雨の中でのプレイとなった。先月はBB賞という名誉ある賞をいただいたことに発奮して懲りずに参加。このところ、年甲斐も無くゴルフにわくわく感をかんじるようになりスコアも何か伸びそうな気がしていた矢先で今回は前回より１０以上は改善。新ペリエ方式でHDCPが決まるので成績順位は運もあるが49+51はまずまずの結果。とにかくBBを卒業してご機嫌です。私が苦手とするNo

I joined the monthly competition named "Senior & Lady's Cup" held at the CC I belong to. We played in the timing of  having the biggest typhoon No.16 soon. I was embarased last month  with the award BB extended to me in this competition but I was encouraged to join again this time. I have been playing golf in high spirits these days and I feel I could improve much more in spite of my age. This time the score was not so bad as last time. That inspires me to keep going on and on.

日光けっこうフェスタと秋のクリーン大作戦 Autumn festival named Nikko Kekko Festa & Big Cleaning local community Group Activity

昨晩は日光けっこうフェスタのフィナーレを飾った花火を初めて近くで見た所、平凡な花火ではなく、一味違った風情のある花火であることに気が付きました。強風の中、昼間の夏日とは打って変わって寒く、早々と退散してしまいましたが、後で聞いたところ、いつもは音楽が流されて、盛り上がりがあるとのこと。なるほど、音と光の饗宴であればさぞ素晴らしいだろうと来年を楽しみにすることにしました。
Last night for the first time we went out to see the fireworks, only five minutes drive up from our place, which we found were a bit different type of fireworks with their shapes spreading out in charming taste. This was a final program for the annual Nikko Kekko Fest held in autumn. Last night it turned to be cold unlike the strong heat during the daytime, so we went back soon. The next day I heard that these fireworks are usually collaborated with nice musice. This time no sound at all. It must be more enjoyable if it's a great performance of collaboration, so to speak, Son et Lumière.

翌日の今日は１０月１３日　秋のクリーニング大作戦の日。早朝にご近所さん達が家の前の草抜きとかゴミ拾いを一斉にやるというもので親睦作戦でもあり、清掃後の一寸したおしゃべりが功を奏していくのだと思っています。
 Todday, Oct.13 is planned to clean our neighborhood. We all went out early in the morning to work together with our neighbors. Picking weeds and garbages. This program may produce a good effect to strengthen the friendship in each neighborhood. Good stragegy!

日光清風塾 第２７回塾長講話会

平成２５年１０月６日　第２７回塾長講話会の要旨

そもそも憲法の話というのは難題で敬遠されがちであるが、やはり関心のある人達からは次々と問題提起がなされ、それに沿って講話は進められた。

　現憲法の内容に賛成か不賛成かは別として、アメリカ占領軍に押し付けられたものであることに変わりはない。（特に、憲法前文は翻訳調の変な日本語であり、その国際環境についての認識は非現実的。）明治憲法の改正手続きに従い、帝国議会の議決を経て天皇が公布したものであるが、占領下においてGHQが強制した憲法改正に反対することは出来なかった。アフガニスタンやイラク等米軍駐留下での憲法改正も同じである。GHQから指示されて日本政府は独自の新憲法草案策定に入ったが出来上がる前にリーク。GHQはこれが基本的に明治憲法と変わりないと受け止め、GHQ自身で草案を策定することにした。

　日本案の最大の問題は天皇の統治権を明記していたこと。連合国の一部、特にソ連、オーストラリアは天皇の戦争責任を追及し、天皇を廃すべし、と主張していたが、マッカーサーは円滑な日本統治のため、何とか天皇を残したいと考えていた。そこでGHQの草案は①天皇は日本国のシンボルである、として天皇を残そうとした。そのかわり、反対国を説得するため、②戦争放棄条項（第九条）を設けた。第九条の当初案は、自衛のための軍事力も持ってはならないとされていたが、これでは日本の生存権も否定される、と日本政府は強く反対し、マッカーサーもこれを認め最終的には削除された。

　次に、集団的自衛権について議論。国連憲章ではいかなる国も個別的、集団的自衛権を有すると規定されている。日本が、個別的のみならず集団的自衛権も有していることは、サンフランシスコ講和条約、日米安保条約のみならず日ソ共同宣言でも規定されている。しかしながら、これまで日本政府は憲法第九条の解釈上、集団的自衛権は認められていないとの立場をとって来た。ところが、最近領土問題を巡って中国などから軍事的圧力が強まって来ているので、米軍との連携を強化することがますます重要になって来ており、憲法解釈を変更すべきであるとの意見が自民党内部で強まって来ている。他方、公明党は慎重姿勢を取り続けており、自民党も解釈変更を急がないようである。

　自民党は憲法第九十六条（改正条項）の改正を優先させたい考え。同条では国会が発議して国民投票で決めることになっている。国会が発議するには、両議院でそれぞれの総議員（出席議員ではない）の2/3以上の賛成が必要とされているが、これが難しいので、1/2以上に改正すべきというのが自民党の考え。ドイツ、アメリカなども議会での2/3以上の賛成が必要とされているが、国民投票は無く、憲法改正を何回もやっている。日本のように国民投票がある国の殆ど全てが、議会の発議は1/2以上の賛成によると規定している。

　ねじれ国会を避けるために一院制にすべきという意見もある。GHQは貴族院を廃止して一院制にすべしと要求したが、両院によるバランスを取るために参議院を設置した経緯がある。個の改正につき外圧がかかることはなく、国民の判断の問題である。

　社会の規範は、価値観の変化や国際環境の変化に応じて変更されるべきである。それは社会が発展し続けるために必要なことである。他方、現憲法が戦後のわが国の平和、安定と経済発展をもたらして来たとも見られ、憲法改正については国民レベルで大いに議論が行われるべきである。このテーマについては将来、この講話会で改めて取り上げることにしたいとして、今回の議論は終わった。

Which way for exit?

かねてから企画を練って日本行きを決行したアルヴェーネス夫妻が予定通り日光に到着。う～ん、やっぱりデカイ！ノルウェーからの遠来の友である。私達がノルウエーを去った翌年の2004年に彼等は来日していて、その時京都でお会いして以来の９年振りの再会。殆ど一昔前になる。今回はあちこちにいる日本の友達に会うためにいわばバカンスを取ったのだそうだが、目一杯の予定を立てていて、やっぱり彼女たちは物理的に若い。東武下今市の駅に下り立った所をショット。

J.&M.Alvenes finally arrived safely at Nikko from Norway. They have been to Japan so many times (actually they have lived in Japan once before) and their last visit was in 2004, one year after we came back from Norway. Therefore, this is the first meeting in 9 years. They took about ten days off for this trip and made such a busy schedul to meet old friends in Japan.

 　我が家で軽く昼食を済ませて早速彼等を外に案内。霊的で一風珍しい光景は印象的だったよう。
　This spiritual site must have impressed them to think about how and for what purpose many disciples made those stone images of Jizo 4 to 5 centuries ago.

更に、30ｋｍにも及ぶという杉並木の一部を案内。ノルウェーも豪快な美しい大自然を誇る国であるが、人為的に作ったこうした並木は珍しい。４００年の歴史の重みを感じることが出来る。
　We also took them down through the Cedar Tree Avenue to feel the value of 400 years' history.
夜は我が家で夕食を共にしながら延々と話が続く。Morten と夫は殆ど議論。もっとも、数日前に日本に着いたばかりで明らかに時差ボケがあり、さすがの彼等も11時過ぎるとストップして寝支度。
We talked and talked over the dinner at home. But it is only a few days ago that they arrived in Japan and obviously they were still suffering from jet lag. They were obliged to stop and got ready to go to bed before midnight.

翌日は迷いなく山内へ。輪王寺、逍遥園、東照宮を案内。途中、拓本版画展を見て、共通の友人のリノリュウム版画家が話題になる。ここでの作品も素晴らしいものであった。
 The next day we guided them to Sannai where Rinnouji temple, the Beautiful Japanese garden of Shouyouen, Toshougu-shrine. On the way, we happened to drop in the museum of Meiji no Yakata where a special exhibition of art works of rubbed copy was held. They were just beautiful.

日光に来る前に彼等は伊勢参りをやってきていたので、二つの社の余りの違いが印象的で、大変勉強になったよう。修学旅行生達がわんさと賑わい、「ハロー、バイバイ」程度の英語ながら、親しみを込めて挨拶してくるのには驚いた。始まったばかりの英語教育の成果（？）かも。
As they visited Ise shrine before coming to Nikko, they were lucky to be able to compare Toshogu shrine with Ise shrine. They were happy to tell us a big contrast between the two.
In Toshogu premise, there were so many school children in groups. They were brave and friendly enough to talk to our guests without any hesitation. They seemed to practice their English they just started at primary schools as a compulsory subject. They looked cute in their big challenging attitude saying just two words "Hello!" and "Good bye!"

夜は山内のレストランでの美味しい和牛ステーキに感嘆。更に日本での最古の由緒ある蓄音機のコレクションを見せていただくことも出来て彼等にとって素晴らしい日光滞在となったよう。我が家に帰宅してからも真夜中までおしゃべり。時間がこんなに早く経ってしまうと彼女は嘆く。
We had dinner at the prestigeous restaurant nearby and enjoyed a very delicious beef meet. Morte was to have his birthday the next day, so that I arranged beforehand a little message on his dessert plate. After the dinner, we were taken to upstairs to let us have a look of a collection of antique gramophones in Japan, which became another big surprise for them. Back in home, we continued our talk until late. Jennifer complained of quick passing of time.

２泊したらもう去る日。雨だと予想されていた天気はいい方に外れで、彼等が去った後に雨が降り出すという本当に幸運な３日間であった。
又、新たな想い出を残して彼等は去って行った。世界中を仕事とバカンスで行き来している。日光は特別な所であり、素晴らしい所であるという印象を持たれたことと思う。
After two nights at our place, they have gone back to Tokyo leaving precious and nice memories behind for us. Actually the rainy days were expectied but there was no rain. I hope they would have been impressed with Nikko filled with the power of the Shogunate and with the great nature.
