(Thurs) An annual friendship exchange welcoming Soka UNESCO members

Thanks to such a wonderful autumn day after
rather heavy rain for three days, we enjoyed having an exchange friendship meeting
between Nikko UNESCO and Soka UNESCO. It was our side to prepare a program this
time. Mr.Kurihara, vice chairman of our association kindly made a handbook designed
for today’s program which has detailed explanation of the historical places to
visit with many photos and sketches in. It has been 9 years since we settled
down in Nikko, but there are still many places I haven’t visited yet. Today I
really appreciated today’s opportunity to be able to visit some important
historic spots to follow what did the great priests, shoudou, the founder of
Nikko in 766 and Tenkai, its reconstructor during the Tokugawa Shogunate. Then
Tamozawa imperial villa, very elegant and sophisticated place was our last
visit, which I have been so many times before. Finally we ended up our late
luncheon at Suien which turned to be very successful having enjoyable conversation
over the delicious Chinese food.
