Our alumni meeting (Kawamoto high school graduates in 1960) was held in Matsue this time. Matsue is located far west from Nikko, more than 1000km away, but I decided to join. Taking this opportunity, I was able to meet my second brother and his wife after 4 years blank. We visited our temple(Joukyouji temple) to talk to my parents who have been in a peaceful sleep there. My father passed away in 1983 when we were about to move to Kuwait, while my mother in 2005 just after my husband's retirement. Well, I appologyzed for my non-visit for a while, but they must be happy to know that we are all in good shape involving in works and volunteer activities. I feel they have always been watching us how we are doing. In November, all the gods in Japan gather in Izumo (Matsue's neighboring city), a sacred place and all other places become without the gods. That's why they call November Kannazuki(month without the gods), while in only Izumo they call November Kamiarizuki(month with the gods). They gather in Sata shirine in Izumo.
As for, our Alumni meeting, it was exciting and enjoyable to meet some old friends after a half century. We found ouselves quite aged. However, I would like to stand up to say aloud ;The old be ambitious! We are still energetic enough to create our genuine life after our retirement.
