Another Indian summer day induced me to go up to Tamozawa old imperial residence to join a small concert entitled "Autumn Music Festival" sponsored by"InternationalMusicDay"memorial
event acting committee. It has 6 diferent concerts and Today's was the 5th one, one before the last. Today's program was by Dai Miyata, now most prominent rising cellist, only 24 years old. He was the winner of Rostropovich International Cello Concert held last year.Only because of this reason, I expected a very delicate rather nervous performance. However his way of conducting his performance was very at home and casual, which made the audience feel friendly and confortable. He intended rather to guide us so as to have a better understanding about the cello music world. His performance was mixed with his gentle talks. One more unexpected thing was the appearance of his mother who used to be his first teacher 22 years ago. She looked enthusiastic about children's education. What she said was very impressive. The parents must talk to their children a lot whenever they have a chance to talk to. What they feel about the nature, about human deeds, should be told in such a way to polish their sensitivity. I was able to feel there exists a good mental relationship between them. There exists a strong trust and respect between each other. Their duo concert was very charming and effective. Today's Indian summer weather gave me another beautiful present. I had one hour be-all and end-all.
