Very busy weekend. We visited our son’s family in
Tateishi to celebrate his first
daughter to be 2 years old in a few days, then the next day I went to Kyoto to
join our Alumni (L2) for the first time after 10 years. The luncheon was
organized at a Japanese style restaurant affixed to the memorial house of a
former artist (Japanese painting) located near to Ginkakuji temple. The
luncheon was very enjoyable with lots of talks over such sofisticated Japanese
food. Then we walked down hrough Tetsugaku no Mich(a path for philosophy) along
the canal even under bad weather(It drizzled on and off). The cherry blossoms
along the path were 80% bloomed and many visitors admired them. At the time
when we were student here, only local people were here to enjoy the season but
now this path has been commercialized and so many visitors occupy the area together
with lots of stores and small restaurants which didn't exist half century ago.
I stayed one over night at my friend house with another friend(we are three
sweet girls. We have been keeping in touch with each other since our graduation
from Kyoto university. Then next day I went back to Nikko taking almost 5 hours
enjoying some beautiful scenery from the Shinkansen and full bloom of cherry
blossoms in Asakusa.
