南京でお花見 Cherry blossoms in Nanjing

今日はお花見に。1902年創立の国立南京中央大学の一つ（中央大学が四つに分かれて南京大学もその一つ）林業大学の構内の見事な桜並木を見てきました。昨年夫が担当したの南京大学大学院での授業を取った学生で今やメインバンクに勤務しているMBAを取得している才媛の周さんのお招きによるもの。大変親切に構内の見どころを案内してくれました。南京にこんな桜の名所があることに驚きました。この大学は１００年前に設立された由で、その時点で環境保全を考慮してデザインされたそうで、構内には川もあり、釣り人あり、一般市民も自由に構内を歩けるようになっている。桜の華やかさと柳の木のしなやかさが何とも言えない風情を醸し出していました。それにしても、花を愛でるのは万国共通。物凄い人の群れでした。
We went out today again to see the most popular cherry blossom site in the campus of Nanjing Forestry University which was already designed underconsideration of the environment conservation when it was established 100 year ago. One of my husband's graduate students of Nanjing university invited us to come out to see such an elegant avenue all covered with cherry blossoms in full bloom. The contrast of gorgeous cherry blossoms and elegant willow trees was just beautiful and very attractive. Wherever are the beautiful flowers, many people come out to see them.
