今日は降りしきる雨の中にもかかわらず、日光ユネスコ協会の仕事として世界遺産敷地内での空気汚染度モニターリング作業に参加。小学生の修学旅行団も雨にめげず社会科勉強。お天気に関係なく、東照宮は賑わいをみせていました。ラッキーなことに東照宮客殿では日本伝統工芸展をやっていたのでついでにそこにも入ってきましたが、超一流の伝統工芸品には目が覚めました。隙のない匠の技、桐を使った調度品、箪笥は忘れていた世界のもの。日光彫も私達が挑戦しているものとはあまりにかけ離れた芸術作品揃い。宝物を見てきた思いです。Participated today in one of the activities by Nikko UNESCO Association, NOx air pollution monitoring on the premise of Nikko Tosho-shrine, under such a bad weather with rain. In spite of such bad weather, Tosho-shrine was crowded with many school kids from schools. Coincidentally, there held a big exhibition of Japanese traditional Art crafts in the reception hall of Tosho-shrine. I was very much impessed with many excellent articles, masterpieces such as paulownia chests, furniture, tools, lacquerred Nikko-bori woodcurving, China, etc. They are far beyond our standard. Those treasure-like art crafts enriched my heart.
