English version of the date June 21
Yesterday's big event was over safe! It wouldn't be more than enough to say that the success of the biggest event on June 20'10, naming the 3rd Chorus Festival consisting all choir groups in Nikko city, will be an unforgettable in my life. It was a great challenge for us, 200 members altogether, to perform Beethoven's No.9 "To Joy" in front of the public assisted by the Tochigi Symphony orchestra with 4 professional solists. We did it even without the text book. When we were annonced to start practicing two years ago, no body would have believed we would make it. All the German lyrics had to be memorized. There were thousands of corrections in both rythm and pronounciation. Sometimes we were derailed, out of tones, and discouraged. But we were anyhow directed toward the way it should be and it was only a few weeks before that we began to see a hope to some extent. We would make impossible possible! And I did it even with a confidence and a louder voice, very high and powerfull(beautiful?) soprano tone. This incredible success was brought by two able wonderful teachers(directors) who were patient enough and never threw us away out on the streets. Their great spirit and energy to produce a comfortable harmony completely captured our hearts to get as much closer to the target as possible and we got this Joy! Every member was excited and moved with tears in the eyes.
The audience of Imaichi Culture Hall in full capacity was so excited and waved. I have never experienced this joint exciting feeling before from the both sides, excitement from the audience and the one from the stage. And my husband was also involved in this big choir. The excitement gained in a mass play is something different from the one in individual play.
