ジョニーが清風塾の英会話クラス（EECC）に最後に顔を出してくれたのがこの５月９日。その後３か月間は、第二の日本での人生経験（サバイバル）を積みに山口の廃村で児童館を建てる作業を。その彼が母国（デンマーク）から彼を訪ねてきた幼馴染でもあり、高校の同窓生だったホワン君とホストファミリーの由記さんと共に今日、我が家に来てくれました。明後日にはデンマークへ発つとのこと。９月からはあちらの大学に入学して勉強を本格的にする由。日本が大好きになって「母国に帰りたくない」としきりに言っていました。
It was on May 9th when Johnny showed up for the last time in my English Conversation Class. Since then, he had been in a remote village in Yamaguchi to revitalize the place by building a sort of log house to install a library or a play room for children. Then he came back to Nikko with his close friend visiting him from Denmark for a couple days before flying back to their countries. His host family, Yuki-san brought them to our place today. We were very happy to see him again and to know that he had a fruitful stay in Japan having deeper understanding of different culture through his new experiences. They are leaving the day after tomorrow for Denmark to start his new academic life on the campus starting September 1st. It seems he is falling in love with Japan.
