ブルネイ王国ナションルデイ ３１ｓｔ national day of the kingdom of Brunei

日光清風塾の池坊保子先生・美佳先生をお迎えしての特別講演(２月２２日）が終った翌日は、ニューオータニで開催されたブルネイ王国の３１回目のナショナルデイレセプションに出席。毎年出席しているが、私達が赴任していたのが1996～1999。あれから20年以上たっている。今でもブルネイと日本は天然ガスで太いパイプを維持。当時、ブルネイから輸入している天然ガスの25%は東京、大阪の台所で消費されていると聴いた。相変わらず、東京ガスや大阪ガスから大きな大きなお祝いの花輪がかざられていた。印象深いのは氷のオブジェ。昨年はダウ船であったが、今年は先代の国王の名前がついたオマール・サイフデン・モスク。ブルネイ時代の友人にも再会出来るまたとないチャンスである。
It was the 22nd when Nikko Seifujuku organized a big event involving Mrs.Yasuko Ikenobo and her second daughter. And the next day, after sharing a wonderful time with her visiting the deep Nikko for half a day under such a beautiful weather, we went to Tokyo to attend the 31st national day of Brunei held at hotel New Ohtani. More than 20 years have passed since we were on duty in Brunei from 1996 to 1999. Brunei and Japan have been keeping a strong relation in the field of natural gas. 25% out of total quantity of imported gas from Brunei has been consumed in Tokyo and Osaka area household. Big congratulatory flowers from Tokyo Gas and Osaka gas were lined up together with so many Japanese enterprises. I'm always impressed with an elaborated ice work as an attractive object decorated in the center of the reception hall. Also it's time to meet some old friends with happy feeling.
